Sally Moore was born in Barry, South Wales in 1962. She trained at the Ruskin School of Art, Oxford, and subsequently won a scholarship to study at the British School in Rome.
Sally’s paintings have won awards at the National Eisteddfod, the Discerning Eye Exhibition in London and she has also been the recipient of the Welsh Artist of the Year Award.
Her paintings are often absurd, sometimes surreal and invariably humorous. She says of this latest collection of work: ‘The day to day observations of the wildlife and seasonal changes in my garden have been a source of inspiration for the playful and sometimes bizarre imaginings depicted in my recent series of paintings.’
The painstakingly detailed style of her work means a low output of paintings, with the result that her exhibitions are infrequent. This show of only 12 new paintings is a rare opportunity to see and admire the exquisite craftsmanship of Sally’s work.
