Catrin Williams RCA b.1966
Born in 1966, Catrin Williams was brought up on a hill-farm near Bala, and has lived on the Lleyn since 1996.
Welshness, or rather the experience of living in Wales, is an obvious theme in her work. Elements from her background and upbringing in Meirionnydd insist on inclusion in her work: the home and the farm; celebrations and the clothing; music and Welsh culture; family traditions and familiar faces. Recent works take inspiration from the coastline of the Lleyn Peninsula.
Catrin was elected to the Royal Cambrian Academy in 2001.
