Glyn Baines was born in Carrog, Denbighshire in 1930, and later moved with his family to farm on the LLeyn Peninsula. He studied art at Wrexham and Cardiff, and subsequently taught art at Ysgol Y Berwyn, Y Bala from 1966 until his retirement in 1989. He now paints full time.
Glyn is particularly noted for his abstract collages which have attracted much critical acclaim and an increasingly large following.
He was awarded the Gold Medal in Fine Art at the National Eisteddfod in 2015.
